Email is one of the company’s critical business services. In addition to corporate communications, email is used to receive and process millions of orders, as well as for interaction with business partners. As the business grew, the email service faced increasingly strict requirements for speed, reliability, and scalability. At some point, internal server capacity could no longer handle the growing volume of information, and the email system required a complete modernization.
“Building a new email system required acquiring at least six new servers, increasing the Internet channel bandwidth, and expanding the IT staff to maintain the infrastructure. After evaluating the costs, management decided to move the email service to the cloud” - said Sergey Zatsepin, Head of IT at PHARM. Following a competitive selection, LanCloud was chosen as the cloud provider.

“LanCloud faced a fairly complex task of migrating several terabytes of email from more than 20 company domains while ensuring full business continuity. The task was further complicated by the company’s regional distribution across different time zones, leaving almost no maintenance windows. Nevertheless, in less than two months, all email was almost seamlessly migrated to the LanCloud cloud, and the Cloud Exchange SaaS service was integrated with the client’s Active Directory” - said Sergey Erin, Development Director at LanCloud.

“As a result, inFormat’s retail network received an efficient centralized email solution with high fault tolerance and scalability. Specifically, employee mailbox sizes were increased from the initial 5 GB to 50 GB, access bandwidth to the mail server was expanded from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps, and instead of increasing the IT staff, professional technical support from LanCloud was provided free of charge” - said Sergey Zatsepin.

The quality of the project was acknowledged in a client testimonial.
